What We Do

Sandoval County Fire and Rescue protects lives, property, and communities across approximately 3,700 square miles of diverse terrain throughout Sandoval County.

With 8 Fire Districts, 20 Fire Stations, and approximately 280 career and volunteer firefighters, Paramedics and EMT’s, and emergency responders, we provide fire suppression, emergency medical services, rescue operations, wildland fire response, and all-hazards emergency support to residents and visitors across the region.

Our service area includes rural communities, tribal communities, highways, waterways, and wildland-urban interface areas. We proudly serve and support communities including Santa Ana Pueblo, Zia Pueblo, Cochiti Lake, Cochiti Pueblo, Santo Domingo Pueblo, San Felipe Pueblo, and portions of the Navajo Nation and Jicarilla Apache Nation.

Sandoval County Fire and Rescue also works closely with neighboring agencies—including Santa Fe County, the City of Rio Rancho, the Village of Corrales, the Town of Bernalillo, Bernalillo County, and the City of Albuquerque—to coordinate emergency response, fight wildland fires, conduct rescue operations, and support large-scale incidents.

How We Serve You

Sandoval County Fire and Rescue is committed to protecting, preparing, and educating the communities we serve. Beyond traditional fire suppression, our personnel provide emergency medical services, wildland fire response, burn permit administration, rescue services, and community risk-reduction support throughout Sandoval County.

The department is also an active participant in the Rio Grande Basin Heavy Technical Rescue Team, helping provide specialized rescue capabilities for complex incidents across the region.

Every member of Sandoval County Fire and Rescue shares the same mission: protecting lives, property, and the wellbeing of the citizens and visitors of Sandoval County.
