Telecommunicators recognized as First Responders at April 8, 2026 County Commission Meeting

April 12 – 18, 2026 was National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, and Commissioner Michael Meek, District 3, recognized the week by sponsoring a proclamation that showed Recognition of Public Safety Telecommunicators as First Responders and Critical Infrastructure within the Public Safety Framework.

“Our telecommunicators have to have the calm and the resolve to deal with every single type of emergency, and for that I salute you and we really appreciate all the hard work that you’ve done,” said Meek. Public Safety Emergency Communications Center (PSECC) Director Yvonne Fox, Operations Manager Amber Cantril, and members of the PSECC team were awarded the proclamation.
