A welcome reception was held at the Sandoval County Administration Building.

Jennifer A. Taylor, Sandoval County Treasurer, welcomed the Junior County Treasurers for the Fall 2026 Semester at a welcome reception on Friday, September 18, 2026, at the Sandoval County Administration Building. The recently selected Junior County Treasurers are Adelaide LaPointe-Paskett, a junior at Rio Rancho High School, and Daniel Chavez, a senior at the ASK Academy, Rio Rancho. During the reception, they met with county leadership and staff.
“We are very excited to welcome Adelaide and Daniel to the County and this program,” said Ms. Taylor. “Our goal is for them to have a positive, beneficial learning experience. The program is an overview of the functions of the Treasurer’s Office, including property tax collection and how those taxes are distributed to fund public safety, education, community services, and infrastructure,” she explained.
This program provides real-world experience in government, finance, and community service. Upon successful completion of the program, these two students will receive commendations from the Treasurer and $5,000 scholarships sponsored by UMB Bank. The students were selected based on their essay submissions.
