Reduced monthly internet fees and a one-time discount for computer equipment are available to eligible Sandoval County residents from the Federal Communications Commission's Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP).

According to the FCC, this benefit program is designed to help households afford the broadband needed for work, school, healthcare, and more.

ACP provides a discount of up to $30/month toward internet service for qualifying households and up to $75/month for households on qualifying Tribal lands. Eligible residents also can get a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop or desk¬top computer, or tablet.


To participate, a house¬hold member must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Has an income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines;
  • Participates in certain assistance programs (SNAP, Medicaid, Federal Public Housing Assistance, SSl, Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, lnfants and Children, or Lifeline);
  • Participates in a Tribal specific program (BlA General Assistance, Tribal Head Start, Tribal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, or Food Distribution Program on Reservations);
  • Receives benefits under the free and reduced-price school lunch/breakfast program, including USDA Community Eligibility Provision;
  • Has a Federal Pell Grant received during the current award year; and/or
  • Meets eligibility criteria for a participating broadband provider's existing low-income program.

If your household qualifies, please take the next steps to enroll:

  1. Go to AffordableConnectivity.gov to apply or to print out a mail-in application.
  2. Contact your preferred participating provider to select a plan and have the discount applied to your internet service bill.
    NOTE: Some providers have an alternative application that they will ask you to complete too. Eligible households must both apply for the program and contact a participating provider to select a service plan.
