CUBA COLLLECTION CENTER
Hours of operation: Wednesday and Saturdays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Located at 521 Southern All Around Road, Cuba, NM
Drop off recycling trailer collecting plastic, aluminum cans, cardboard and mixed paper.
Please rinse all milk containers and food containers before dropping off. No PVC or hard plastics.
PEÑA BLANCA COLLLECTION CENTER
Hours of operation: Wednesday and Saturdays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Located at 22 Camino de Comunida, Pena Blanca, NM
Drop off recycling trailer collecting plastic, aluminum cans, cardboard and mixed paper.
**Allows residents to mix plastic and metal cans in one bin. There is no need to separate.
Please rinse all milk containers and food containers before dropping off. No PVC or hard plastics.
Sandoval County Landfill and Composting Facility
*Sandoval County residents who reside outside of the City of Rio Rancho only, proof of residency may be required, utility bill, or bill showing street address , and drivers license.
Hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed Sundays and most holidays. The Landfill will also close if there is inclement weather or if winds exceed 25 mph.
Located at 2708 Iris Road NE, Rio Rancho, NM
Items accepted:
- Cardboard (flattened, no packaging), plastics (1 through 7's), scrap metal, mixed paper: No Charge
- Electronics, computers (CPU's, PC's, laptops, keyboards, mouse): No Charge
- TV's and CRT (older computer screens): $20 fee
- Tires (4 per visit, passenger tires only): $2.50 per tire
- Appliances (Freon-containing appliances also): No charge
- Hazardous Household Waste (HHW): $15 fee
Sales of Compost or Mulch
- Compost: Call before arriving, it sells fast
- Mulch: Call before arriving, it sells fast
Items NOT ACCEPTED at Collection Centers (except for the Sandoval County Landfill Location where some household hazardous waste is accepted with a $15 fee)
Hazardous waste, Liquids, Radioactive Waste and Bio-Medical waste - Not accepted at any locations
Common Hazardous waste includes: Aerosol spray cans, pesticides, antifreeze, fuels, paints, lead acid batteries, florescent light bulbs, pool chemicals, cleaners, mercury containing items, solvents, oil & oil filters, butane bottles, infectious waste. Tires, burn barrels, needles (sharps), any item that has a license plate or a registration cannot be brought to the landfill.

Must be sent for recycling otherwise it must be treated as hazardous waste:

- Items included in Universal Waste include: Electronic devices, computer components, printers, copying machines, photo machines, florescent light bulbs, mercury containing devices (furnace thermostats), televisions.
