Wildfires often begin unnoticed. They spread quickly, igniting brush, trees, and homes. Reduce your risk by preparing now – before wildfire strikes. Meet with your family to decide what to do and where to go if wildfires threaten your area. Visit firewise.org for more information.

If a wildfire threatens your property, stay tuned to local radio or television for evacuation warnings. Have important items and documents ready to go.  If instructed to evacuate by emergency responders, do so immediately.

Before a fire happens, make your home or business and the surrounding area more resistant to catching fire and burning.

This means reducing the amount of material that can burn easily in and around your home or business by clearing away debris and other flammable materials, and using fire-resistant materials for landscaping and construction.
