It’s Time to Start Thinking about the Sandoval County Fair

Whether you’re a senior citizen, a junior citizen or somewhere in between, you’ll want to be in Cuba, New Mexico the week of July, 27 to August 2, 2015 for the Sandoval County Fair.

This annual event truly offers events that appeal to folks of all ages. It’s also offers the most fun a family can have without busting its budget. A single adult can get a full-day pass for $5.00, with passes for youth 12 and under going for only $3.00. However, the best deal is a $25 family pass that buys entry for the entire fair if you pre-purchase. Family pass at the gate is $40.

A fair ticket buys access to the action—from rodeos and livestock shows to art auctions, dances and a fabulous parade. Friday, July 31, 2015 is Senior Day highlighted by a picnic lunch that includes dancing with live music.

The youngsters will have their chance on the dance floor Thursday night, when the 4H Youth Dance takes place. Regular adult dances are scheduled for Friday and Saturday nights.

If you really want to be part of the fun, there’s still time to sign up for the competition of your choice—whether its wrestling steers, baking cakes, sewing quilts or eating watermelon. You see the full fair schedule on the fair’s website. Applications for all competitions, as well as for vendors and concessionaires, are available on the site as well.
