Elise MacGillivray Recognized as the 2023 Support Staff Member of the Year by the New Mexico Association of Emergency Management Professionals (NMAEMP)

Award was presented on November 15, 2023, at the NMAEMP Annual Conference in Ruidoso, NM

Bernalillo, NM, November 20, 2023: Elise MacGillivray, Emergency Management Grants and Planning Coordinator for Sandoval County, received the 2023 Support Staff Member of the Year from the New Mexico Association of Emergency Management Professionals (NMAEMP). The award was presented to Ms. MacGillivray on November 15, 2023, at the Association’s Annual Conference in Ruidoso, NM. According to the NMAEMP, this award “recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and accomplishments as support staff in the field of Emergency Management.”

Sandoval County Fire and Rescue Chief Eric Masterson said, “Elise MacGillivray joined Sandoval County in January 2023 and from her first day brought competency and commitment to her position. These are attributes that are most needed in her work, as our Emergency Management Office plays a critical and broad role in public safety. It disseminates information to the public and provides training for various emergency-response agencies, and it works to help communities reduce vulnerability to hazards and if applicable, cope with disasters. Elise has experienced all of those situations in her short tenure here and she met the challenges each time. We join the NMAEMP in recognizing and honoring Elise for her contributions to her work, and we look forward to her continued success at the County.”

Ms. MacGillivray participates in the Basic Academy for the Emergency Management Institute through FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency), and she also has her Professional Development Series certification through FEMA. Ms.MacGillivray earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Homeland Security and Emergency Management from Colorado Technical University.
