County to Poll Placitas Residents on Free Roaming Horses

At the October 4 Sandoval County Commission Meeting, the County has invited New Mexico First to present about their County-sponsored task force assembled in 2014 designed to share information and suggest solutions for the humane treatment of the free roaming horses in Placitas, sustainability of the environment, and potential actions for residents, neighborhoods, and government agencies. The presentation will include resulting recommendations from the task force and efforts to subsequently implement those indicated.

The County is also inviting Placitas residents to participate in a simple survey contained on its website, which will be activated on September 28, 2018 and will remain open through October 15, 2018 in order to determine current community desire as the County continues to contemplate prospective legal and humane solutions in partnership with other governmental entities and local residents.

Placitas residents are encouraged to mark their calendars for September 28, which is the date the survey goes active, and for October 4, which is the date of the presentation.
