County to Poll Placitas Residents on Free Roaming Horses

At the October 4 Sandoval County Commission Meeting, the County has invited New Mexico First to present about their County-sponsored task force assembled in 2014 designed to share information and suggest solutions for the humane treatment of the free roaming horses in Placitas, sustainability of the environment, and potential actions for residents, neighborhoods, and government agencies. The presentation will include resulting recommendations from the task force and efforts to subsequently implement those indicated.

The County is also inviting Placitas residents to participate in a simple survey located at, which is currently open for responses and will remain open through October 15, 2018 in order to determine community desire as we continue to contemplate prospective legal and humane solutions in partnership with other government entities and local residents.

Placitas residents are encouraged to take the quick survey and mark their calendars for October 4, which is the date of the presentation.
