Boost Your Overall Health at the 2nd Annual Community Health Fair

The second annual Sandoval County Community Health Fair will take place Friday, August 7, 2015. And, once again, organizers have made this more than your run-of-the-mill health fair.

This could be called a Health and Well-Being fair, with experts on improving physical, mental, emotional, and financial health expected to be on hand.

Numerous healthcare providers will conduct free health screenings—checking vital measurements such as blood pressure and cholesterol. They also will give free vaccinations to children whose parents can show current shot records.

There will be a Farmer’s Market where fair attendees can stock up on locally grown fruits and vegetables at affordable prices. The Central New Mexico Housing Coalition will provide advice on making homes more energy efficient.

Representatives from the Social Security Administration also will be there to answer questions about Social Security programs.

In keeping with the festive spirit of a fair, there will be face painting and other activities for children, as well as drawings for door prizes.

The Sandoval County Sheriff’s Department will be looking out for children’s safety by dispensing Child Identity Kits, and Safer New Mexico will show parents how to properly install child car seats.

All this will take place on the grass field adjacent to the Sandoval County Health Commons, which is located in the County Administration Complex, 1500 Idalia Road, in Bernalillo. The fair will kick off 10:00 AM and run to 3:00 PM. There is no charge to attend. So there’s no excuse not to be there. For more information, call 505-867-2291, ext. 1725.
