A Round of A-Paws: Commissioners Celebrate National Dog Month
The August 13, 2025, Sandoval County Board of County Commissioners Meeting recognized National Dog Month with a proclamation sponsored by Commissioner Katherine A. Bruch, District 1. The proclamation celebrated all of the dogs in Sandoval County, including shelter dogs and working K9s.

At the end of the Commissioner’s Meeting, Commissioner Bruch spoke about the passing of her dog, Chief. Chief was adopted from Sandoval County’s Animal Services Shelter four years ago. “I would so encourage all of you to consider a shelter animal,” says Bruch.
