Event is a joint venture with the City of Rio Rancho and The Town of Bernalillo

Bernalillo, NM, November 3, 2023: Sandoval County residents are encouraged to take advantage of the Free Half-Day Dump Day at its landfill located at 2708 Iris NE, Rio Rancho, NM 87144 on Saturday, November 18, 2023, between 8:00 a.m. and Noon. Residents can make multiple trips to the landfill free of charge during this time frame. Per-trip limitations are four tires, two televisions, and 10 gallons of household hazardous. This is the fourth and final free-half day for 2023.

According to Chris Perea, Landfill Manager for Sandoval County, the landfill accepts:

• cardboard (flattened, no packaging),
• plastics (1 through 7),
• scrap metal,
• mixed paper,
• electronics (computers, CPUs, PC’s, laptops, keyboards, mouse),
• televisions and CRT (older computer screens),
• Tires (4 per visit, passenger tires only),
• Appliances (including Freon-containing appliances), and
• Hazardous Household Waste
o Aerosol spray cans, pesticides, antifreeze, fuels, paints, lead acid batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, pool chemicals, cleaners, items containing mercury, solvents, oil and oil filters, and butane bottles.
