- Residents of Sierra de los Pinos (SDLP) are able to return home. Proof of residency will be required that shows your physical address. Examples include:
- Driver’s license
- Water bill
- Tax assessment
- Residents will access SDLP at the North entrance off Highway 4 and Forest Road 10. All other roads into SDLP will remain closed. These roads include:
- The south end of Forest Road 10 above Paliza Campground
- Forest Road 134
- Trilobite Trail
- Highway 4 is open to all traffic and reduced to one lane from mile marker 27 through mile marker 33.
- Residents should expect to be led by a pilot car.
- Residents will be allowed to leave and return as needed with proper ID.
- The Sandoval County Sheriff’s Office will provide support to SDLP residents returning to their homes along Highway 4 and will verify proof of residency.
- Stage II Fire Restrictions remain in effect across the Santa Fe National Forest. Additionally, the New Mexico State Forester has enacted a statewide burn ban on non-federal, non-tribal, and non-municipal lands.
- The Temporary Area Closure for the McCauley Spring Fire remains in effect.
- As a reminder, there’s no stopping or standing between mile marker 27 through mile marker 33.
- Motorists need to continue to drive cautiously, as firefighters, equipment operators, and emergency responders will be working in and around the fire area.
