Oil, Gas & Water Matter Background
At this time, Sandoval County is considering the creation of an ordinance that would create regulations for the operation of the Oil and Gas industry in Sandoval County.
A Citizen’s Working Group has been acknowledged as they draft an ordinance for consideration by the Planning and Zoning Commission. Once considered by the Planning and Zoning Commission, a proposed ordinance would go before the Sandoval County Board of County Commissioners for further consideration. The County Commission would need to pass the ordinance for it to become law. If an ordinance is passed, it would be the first of its kind in Sandoval County.
